NEW ITEMS I have been buying and selling 18th and 19th century country antiques for approximately 35 years concentrating in early paint, iron, lighting, and items to be found in the early kitchen. For the past several years I have shown in many of the antique shows throughout New England.
Here is a great patriotic painted wood measure. This is the same one used in my shop name. It is I believe a quart measue, thick walled, unsigned, and in great condition. It measures 8 3/4 " top diameter and 5 1/4" tall. The seam is tight, no cracks. No chips, guaranteed old. The paint is obviously not original but approx. 20 yrs. Old.

18th-19th c iron posnet with gate mark. The posnet measures 3 3/4" tall, 3 1/4" top diameter, handle length is 5" long. It looks like it may have been stove blackened. Gate mark on bottom and overall in very good condition.

This metal tree trunk is the holder for a round brass insert to hold matches. It is 2 3/4 : higheitha top diameter of 2 1/4" and bottom diameter of 3 3/4". It is in very good condition. The bark of the tree is brown tones tidged.
Another painted measure. This one is a quart size measuring 5 in tall, and 8 1/2 in. In diameter. The top is out of round. The colors are white, yellow, red, green. The seam is tight, no chips or cracks.

This wonderful painted old red over blue native American rectangular basket is in very good condition. The basket which is in my own collection was purchased several years ago. It measures 7 in. Long by 5 in. from front to back and 3 in. high. There are no breaks. There's some missing edge wrapping straws on one corner. It contains three antique round butter molds measuring 3", 31/4", and 3 1/2". All are in excellent condition.

Nice early tin candle holder with working pushup lever. It sits on a tin dish shape with finger handke. It is l7 in. Tall and 61/2" in diameter. Usual skigns of lots of use with some light rust and dents.

This Drake hump back blue bill duck decoy is attributed to George Stevens. It was purchased at Midwest auction. It measures 13 1/2in Long. The eyes.are glass. It has a hook to fasten a string to on the bottom. It shows signs of wear.

TWO IRON HOOKS, one with three prongs is said to be a GRAPPLE or meat hook measuring 9 in. Long is 3 separate rods with hooked ends coming together into a ring st the top. The second hook has a twisted stem is 8 1/2 in. long with a spike at the top end and a decorative hook at the other end. I do not know how this was used but it resembles a betty lamp holder.

Three old stone fruit, an apricot, a purple plum and a red plum. These are all in very good condition and very realistic. They measure approx. 3 in. each.

This gridiron grisset was used when boiling meat or fish in the fireplace. The drippings were collected on the rods on the gridiron which were V shaped to let the juices and fat drain down to the "grisset" at the rear of the legs which had a pouring spout. The juices were used in soups and to make tallow.

1933 Lucie Atwell lithograph tinplate thatched roof bisquit tin and money box measures 8 in. Across. The roof has a money slot on the top and the roof lifts up. There is a little girl with a kitten at the door. It is in very good used condition.

Face jug signed by Albert Hodge a Southern self taught potter. His work is on display at the Smithsonian American Art museum in Washington DC. He calls his devil pottery Booger men. He states these are " filaments of his imagination " and do not represent satan. It measures 9 in. Tall. He is in excellent used condition.
