NEW ITEMS I have been buying and selling 18th and 19th century country antiques for approximately 35 years concentrating in early paint, iron, lighting, and items to be found in the early kitchen. For the past several years I have shown in many of the antique shows throughout New England.
Great old punched tin lantern in original blue paint. The lantern measures 14 inches tall with a 5 inch bottom diameter. The latch is in tact and it closes tightly. The bottom shows the cleat. There is jus a little wire hager at the top. The bottom edge at the back is dented. Nice unusual lantern!

Here is a rarely found perfect blue painted (original) mortar in cherry wood and a well used chestnut pestle in natural color. The mortar is 7 in. Tall with a 4 3/4 in. top diameter and a 5 in. bottom diameter. The pestle is 6 in. long. It is in great condition, no chips or cracks with normal paint wear.

Here is an originally painted red mortar and pestle. Both made of cherry wood. The mortar measures 7 in. Tall with a 4 1/2 in. Top diameter. The pestle is 9 1/2 in. Long. Both are on good used condition. The mortar has a small slit on the bottom of the body.

19th century Dietz Scout lantern signed on glass and top of lamp. Condition. All parts intact including the free dust inside the globe. I di not know how to open this piece thus the dust. It measures 11 inches with the handle up. It measures 7 3/4 in. With handle down.

Red over blue original painted native American basket This basket measures 61/2 in. Long by 4 inches wide by 3 1/2 inm Deep. The basket is in excellent condition. I have owned this basket for several years. I keep butter molds in it.

Face jug signed by Albert Hodge a Southern self taught potter. His work is on display at the Smithsonian American Art museum in Washington DC. He calls his devil pottery Booger men. He states these are " filaments of his imagination " and do not represent satan. It measures 9 in. Tall. He is in excellent used condition.

This BEADED turtle represents the folk art made by the Huichol Indians of Mexico. Their work includes beautiful beaded figurines. Each bead is individually placed and held with beeswax. This turtle is 5 inches long. Very good condition

This gray green painted pantry box measures 10 inches in diameter and 5 1/2 inches tall. The paint is is original 19th C with minor wear. The cover is tight, the seams are tight. There are no cracks or chips. It is thick walled and in very good used condition.
